Our heroes Chos, Ellie, Saefa, and Sophi, start this adventure riding dinosaurs through the streets of Port Nyanzaru, a coastal town in the southern island of Na Pali. They are racing against a dwarf named Carnivore who’s riding a young t-rex, and two dragonborns riding deinonychuses. It’s a close call but in the end Ellie wins thanks to strong teamwork and despite most of the heroes losing their rides. The only casualties are a poor girl and a cart driver who both ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time.

After the race, Ellie and Saefa go talk to their patron, Lord Outshine, who sticks to his end of the bargain in exchange of winning the race and pays them for a jungle guide. Ellie and Saefa interview the available guides but they can’t choose and they go talk to Chos and Sophi who have been recovering from race injuries by drinking margaritas at the inn. After a serious debate, they hire Salida, a young Na Palian woman who looks badass and experienced. They agree to leave for the jungle the next morning.

With their guide settled, the heroes go talk to Gaeleth, an elder and eccentric druid who lives in the city outskirts. They arrive in time to save her from a group of zombies and skeletons that are storming her temple. Sadly, during the skirmish both Chos and a homeless kid who was playing nearby get killed. Gaeleth can resurrect only one of them, and after a heart-wrenching discussion, they save Chos.
